Details still are being worked out but the plan to go for the Guinness Book of World Records on Friday, January 8, 2016 for the largest ski and/or snowboard lesson is percolating. Interestingly, there is the largest ski lesson record (about 550) but NO resort for the “largest” snowboard lesson.

Organizers are positioning this as a PR opportunity to attract attention to learning how to ski or snowboard – preferably from a trained instructor. It is being seen as the “kick off” for the 2016 Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month effort.

Most beginner “learn to” lesson programs at resorts include a lift ticket, (for the beginner area), a lesson and rental equipment. The World’s Largest Ski/Snowboard Lesson is an effort to jump start the 2016 initiative.

Many suppliers and retailers have been involved in the January Learn to Ski and Snowboard/Bring a Friend program over its seven- year evolvement. This year is on track for a whole new episode.

The program welcomes ALL industry supporters who are interested in gaining new skiers and snowboarders.
