Steps away after more than 35 years with the brand he helped grow
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 21, 2021) – Dave McCaffery, who spent more than 35 years defining the standard of professional sales representation for Seirus, has retired. The Seattle-based McCaffery was well-respected throughout the Pacific Northwest region and was one of the first external sales reps ever hired by Seirus.
“When roots go back in excess of 40 years, the health of the tree above ground is reflective of the hardiness of the roots below,” said Mike Carey, founder and president of Seirus. “In Seirus’ journey, Dave has been one of those foundational strengths who was instrumental in getting us to where we are today. For this, and all the discussions, laughs and great times we’ve shared, we salute him and congratulate him on taking the next step in life.”
A graduate of the University of Washington, McCaffery is an avid skier and his passion for winter sports helped establish meaningful contacts with retailers. His retirement became official May 31, 2021. McCaffery’s retirement plans include spending less time on the road and more time on the mountain.
“My time at Seirus has been filled with highs, and some lows, but the Seirus spirit is to learn from all our experiences and become even better at what we do and who we are,” said McCaffrey. “I have sincerely enjoyed my time working with the Seirus team and look forward to continuing to harass them, but from the chairlift.”
Taking over rep duties for Seirus in the Northwest region is Snow to Water Sports Group, based in Bend, OR.
“Dave is a legend at Seirus and he is as good a person as he is a sales rep,” said Don Maneth, Director of Snowsport Sales for Seirus. “Dave lived through many Sales Managers and with each new one, he always took the time to build a great relationship and educate us on his territory which he knew so incredibly well.”
