Monthly Inclusion Discussion Meet Up

SIA is launching a six-month series of exploration and conversation on inclusion. We invite you to join us on the journey.

During these one-hour, monthly zoom meet-ups, you will be guided through a series of thought-provoking and engaging discussions on what it means to be inclusive, what inclusion looks like for the winter outdoor community and how to practice inclusion in your daily life.

Lead by expert Dr. Gerilyn Davis of Inclusion on the Slopes, each session will be based on short, prescribed articles and/or videos that are fast and easy to digest yet contain important insights that will help guide and empower you on your inclusion journey.

Come to as many sessions as you can; meet-ups are open to all who are looking to embrace a more inclusive mindset for the benefit of the winter outdoor community!

Wednesday, February 16, 2022 1:00 pm MST – Inclusion includes you too: Who’s included in inclusion?

In this next segment of our inclusion discussion meet-ups, we will discuss in-depth the details of leveraging relationships to become inclusion.

In the previous meet-ups, we discussed why inclusion, what does inclusion entails, how to create inclusion, and even when to create inclusion. We will now address how to connect and develop relationships with people, communities, and partners that you haven’t had to in the past.

We will talk through one of the most profound books that transformed my career (Many Communicate, Few Connect – John Maxwell) in which the book was the catalyst to connecting the dots within my inclusive journey. We will also address trust, one of the core foundations of establishing relationships.

Also, we will shed light on Black History Month and the true intention of the month based on its origin.

From our last discussion, how have you prioritized inclusion by taking the time, focus, and energy to do so, and when have you used your inclusion system? Click here to review the slides from the December Discussion Meetup.
