Denver’s Cool Spaces: What’s Hot, What’s New for SIA Snow Show

Some of Denver’s hottest spaces offer more than an eating and drinking experience for SIA Snow Show attendees. The city is known for its creative cuisine and original dining concepts.

If you’re looking for healthy food not far from the Colorado Convention Center, check out Modern Market. Located on the 16th Street Mall, it’s known for its breakfast scrambles and brick-oven pizzas. And Henry’s Tavern, which offers artisanal sandwiches, hand-pressed beef burgers and plenty of beer options.

If you can’t make up your mind on what to eat and want an altogether unique experience, try Avanti Food & Beverage, a newcomer on the Denver dining scene in the Lower Highlands (LoHi) neighborhood. Inspired by European markets and food truck roundups, the owners converted a two-story warehouse to house a series of modified shipping containers. You get seven different restaurant experiences in one place, plus gorgeous views of the Denver skyline.

Meanwhile, Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox, also in the Ballpark neighborhood, is jokingly referred to as a “gastrobrothel.” Let’s just say the building had a checkered past. Ophelia’s offers a menu tailored for sharing, handcrafted cocktails and a wide selection of Colorado-produced beers. And there’s a sunken stage with live music.

The River North Art District (RiNo) now has not one but three urban food markets—The Source, The Preservery and The Denver Central Market—that offer bakeries, bars, upscale markets and restaurants, all under their own respective roofs. You might even catch live music while you’re there.
