The excitement for the SIA Snow Show is building. It seems like just yesterday that we were all dashing from meeting to meeting-building key partnerships, or sitting in on industry specific seminars on how to speak to millennials, mitigate the risk of no snow, and educate on avalanche safety.
There is a third, often overlooked, tier that is integral to making the most of attending an amazing show. The people. Take a more holistic approach to the SIA Snow Show and consider the people portion of the industry. It is our shared passion, purpose, as well as our differences that make this industry attractive to employees and participants – and a more diverse and inclusive industry creates a stronger and more sustainable snow community, which ultimately increases profits, expands the product market, and drives innovation.
So I challenge you to take a more holistic approach to this show – network, expand your leadership skills, get inspired, and honor role models. There are several opportunities for this at the Show, and the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) events are a great place to start.
