Monthly Inclusion Discussion Meet Up

SIA is launching a six-month series of exploration and conversation on inclusion. We invite you to join us on the journey.

During these one-hour, monthly zoom meet-ups, you will be guided through a series of thought-provoking and engaging discussions on what it means to be inclusive, what inclusion looks like for the winter outdoor community and how to practice inclusion in your daily life.

Lead by expert Dr. Gerilyn Davis of Inclusion on the Slopes, each session will be based on short, prescribed articles and/or videos that are fast and easy to digest yet contain important insights that will help guide and empower you on your inclusion journey.

Come to as many sessions as you can; meet-ups are open to all who are looking to embrace a more inclusive mindset for the benefit of the winter outdoor community!

Wednesday, March 16, 2022, 1:00 PM MDT – Location, Location, Location: Where to create inclusion?

The main intention behind the inclusion discussion meet-ups is to equip each person participating in the discussions to create inclusion in their daily lives. In this final discussion, we will address collaborative intelligence. Collaborative intelligence is a critical tool to be more inclusive that measures our ability to think with others on behalf of what matters to us all. We hear it often in our marketplace that location is everything. When we think about inclusion, where does it fit within our lives with the knowledge that we take our thinking wherever we go?

You may have heard us discuss what it takes to create an inclusive mindset. Where can you create inclusion? Everywhere and it begins by being fully aware of your thinking and how you think. Practicing inclusive behaviors provides an opportunity to maximize the value of sharing various frames of thought and collaborative intelligence will assist us in doing so.

We will explore the value of gaining mind share versus market share in our knowledge-based economy.

“The premise of the book is that we understand diversity when it comes to culture, race, and sex, but we don’t understand thinking diversity, nor do we have the tools to leverage it — especially in the meeting place at work,” Angie McArthur author of Collaborative Intelligence.

We will explore the book Collaborative Intelligence and discuss our collaborative intelligence score. I am looking forward to seeing you soon. Also, from our last discussion, how have you shifted your focus to being trustworthy and trusting others? Here are the slides from our last discussion.
